Ingram hails its reseller day

Broadline giant holds education event to bring resellers and vendors together

Ingram Micro has hailed its recent reseller training forum as a resounding success and is already planning the next one.

The broadliner held its training day at the Donnington Valley Hotel in Berkshire earlier this month, with more than 100 resellers and 18 vendors taking part.

Seminars were held by vendors such as Cisco, Symantec, Toshiba, Canon, Microsoft and Trend Micro, among others, enabling resellers to update their knowledge and hear about the latest product and technology developments.

Lee Pritchard, representative of VAR MSL Voice and Data Services, praised the event.

“The range of presenters was very good and it brought together the best products available, opening up a whole new lot of opportunities for us.

“The forum has helped our business by enabling us to make new contacts within the channel that we would not have otherwise made, such as technical experts and heads of sales at some of the vendors. It opened our eyes to other contacts in the channel and will really help us to sell.”

Iain Smith, founder of Onx Enterprise Solutions UK, agreed. “As Onx is a fledgling business in the UK, this event was great for us. It was worthwhile in terms of improving our product knowledge but also an excellent networking opportunity to help get our business known in the market.”

The next Ingram training day is set for Friday 6 November.
