SecureWave offers VARs a Sanctuary
Vendor claims its Sanctuary 4.0 device will help its resellers boost their revenue
Security vendor SecureWave has married its technology together to steal a march on its rivals in the growing data leakage prevention market.
The vendor has claimed its Sanctuary 4.0 software, the result of the union of its Sanctuary Device Control and Sanctuary Application Control technology, is the first of its kind to market and will help its resellers bump up revenue. The firm is also looking to expand its UK channel partner numbers to increase market reach.
Speaking to CRN, Dennis Szerszen, vice-president of business development at SecureWave, said: “We are the only vendor that offers integrated application and device control. Enterprises prefer to have products integrated because it means only one box, which can be centrally managed.
“Resellers have found Sanctuary Device Control an easy sell, but they struggled with application control. Now our partners can offer both in an integrated product.”
According to Gartner, security software sales rose by 14.8 per cent to hit $7.4bn in 2005 (CRN, 18 September), but the analyst warned that vendors would need to include more functionality in their products.
Szerszen added that SecureWave was seeing success in markets such as financial services and insurance.
“More businesses are recognising the value of their data than before,” he said. “Due to the complexity of data leakage, we are seeing activity in areas we did not expect, which is good for our channel.”
David Henderson, sales director at SecureWave VAR Armadillo, said: “We started selling SecureWave as a quirky USB device management product, but now it is more of an end-point desktop-control sell. With the launch of Sanctuary 4.0, SecureWave has provided partners with a cross-sell opportunity into the application control side of things.”
