IT Dealer plans to grow and recruit in Europe

Channel sourcing firm IT Dealer has set its sights on European expansion and is looking to boost membership numbers significantly this year.

The firm, which allows resellers to check the availability of new and end-of-life stock and source related or compatible products from 59 distributors in the UK, is also looking to bolster its reseller membership base, expanding from 400 to about 550 by the end of the year.

Rupesh Vara, commercial director of IT Dealer, told CRN: “IT Dealer is on the hunt to recruit additional distributors and VARs. We have seen that there is a big market out there that is yet to be developed and we are consolidating our offering to bring together a more tailored solution.

“We are due to start our European implementation to get an IT Dealer Europe up and running, and are speaking to vendors, resellers and distributors in several countries.”

Vara said the company had also added two new features to its site in the form of My IT Dealer and My IT Dealer Supermode. The first enables resellers to obtain cost pricing from tier-one distributors of choice and the second builds a complete tailored e-commerce system.

One of the first companies to take up the Supermode offering is integrator Telindus, which enlisted IT Dealer’s help to create its Telindus online procurement system (TOPS) extranet, a service that enables its customers to search for products, see pricing, order equipment and track the order.

Darragh Richardson, head of marketing at Telindus, said: “Customers looking to do a lot of regular run-rate business want to replicate the experience they have on web sites such as Amazon or eBay, so they use our TOPS site to check stock levels and availability of products in which they are interested.”
