Distributor launches virtualisation services
Horizon Clarity has unveiled specialised virtualisation services, designed to help resellers make the most of the burgeoning technology.
The distributor has worked with Platespin and VMWare to deliver professional services resources to partners looking to migrate end-users to virtualised infrastructure and storage.
Chris Whiteley, senior product manager at Horizon Clarity, said: “Virtualisation is a complex technology. Customers really need to know if they have the right infrastructure in place before deployment. Our ser-vices will help resellers to evaluate customers’ infrastructure, analyse requirements, and help with installation and design. These skills are quite rare in the channel so we want to skill-up our Sun partner base to be able to do this.”
Melinda-Carol Ballou, analyst at IDC, said: “IT leaders need to lay the groundwork to incorporate virtualisation into a portfolio management approach.”
