DSG International partners with Vonage

Retail giant to stock the internet telephony vendor's VoIP product in its UK store

Retail giant DSG International has signed a deal with Vonage, to stock the internet telephony vendor’s voice over IP (VoIP) products in its UK stores.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vonage products will initially be available in the retailer’s PC World stores from the beginning of October.

Vonage will also gain access to DSG’s ISP subsidiary Freetalk’s VoIP customer base as a result of the deal, which is expected to be completed by next week.

Jonathan Matchett, head of business development for VoIP telephony at DSG, said: “We are pleased to be working closely with Vonage on the development of our retail proposition in VoIP telephony.”

Kerry Ritz, managing director of Vonage UK, said: “This is another significant step forward in bringing our offering to the mass market.”

The announcement follows DSG’s recent £30m sale of a 60 per cent equity stake in The Link to O2 (UK) (CRN Online, 3 August).
