Xerox ready to scale up its UK channel
Vendor reaffirms commitment to partners at European event
The head of Xerox's European Office Group is spreading the message that the vendor is fully committed to the channel and striving to make life easier for its customers and partners.
Speaking at the Xerox Go for Gold event in Seville, Cees van Doorn, general manager at Xerox Europe Office Group, told CRN: "Moving from a 100 per cent direct model a few years ago to a two-tier model is proof of our commitment to the channel. In the UK we currently have about 200 partners, and are looking to take on new
partners."
Van Doorn also announced a new service for resellers.
"The two worlds of printers and copiers have merged. We have launched PagePack for printers and low-end multifunction printers. Before you couldn't buy a click-based service agreement for any printer," he said.
Xerox launched PagePack in 2003 for multifunctional printers. Available only to Xerox Concessionaires, it was a cost-per-page agreement covering maintenance, support and supplies. PagePack is now available through any accredited Xerox reseller.
Catherine Charlery, European group director at InfoTrends, said: "PagePack is a key offering from Xerox and a good idea. It should reduce customers' costs."
