Logicalis begins staff consultation

Integrator confirms 30-day process to look at realignments, job cuts and fine-tuning operations

Integrator Logicalis is hoping to safeguard profitability after confirming it has entered into a consultation process with some UK staff to look at redundancies, realignments and other operational efficiencies.

Chris Gabriel, solutions director at Logicalis, remained tight-lipped on the number of staff involved. He indicated that any reduction in headcount would be "significantly smaller" than the figure of 50 some sources had suggested to CRN.

He claimed Logicalis wanted to consult with employees in an open and candid way and would look to realign staff where possible. "We are trying to put people in the right spaces," he said.

The integrator has 443 UK staff in total and the consultation process is expected to last a month. Gabriel added: "We are doing what every sensible organisation is doing, making sure we tune the business to match the environment. We want to take a proportional look at the business and engage with the areas where we need to tune a little bit.

"Deals are still out there but it is clearly tight in this period of uncertainty. We are trying to make sure that we are ready to take advantage of the upturn when it comes."
