CMS Peripherals sales head leaves to set up VAR
Bruce Andrews exits distributor to launch storage reseller Scarlet Data
Andrews: There is a good opportunity for a proactive organisation
CMS Peripherals’ enterprise sales manager Bruce Andrews has left the storage distributor to set up a reseller.
Andrews kicked off his new venture, Scarlet Data, today, following a two-and-a-half-year stint at CMS. He has previously worked for broadliner Ingram Micro.
Harrow-based Scarlet will focus on data management and availability, initially working with vendors CA and CommVault, Andrews said.
“I have always worked in sales,” he told CRN.
“If you look at the IT market 10 years ago, it was very proactive. People got on the phones and sold. It has moved to more of a reactive fulfilment model, so there is a good opportunity for a proactive organisation.”
Andrews will initially work alone but plans to recruit more staff later this year. “CA and CommVault both have aggressive plans for the UK for the next two to three years and I want to be part of that growth,” he added.
Joe Fagan, product marketing manager at CMS, said: “Bruce has an idea for a new venture and is going with CMS's full blessing. We wish him every success.”
