Nimans boosts VARs' Avaya support
Mancunian distributor adds field-based expertise and appoints old hand Phil Adams to manage Avaya business
Phil Adams: Avaya is in my blood
Comms distributor Nimans has revamped its Avaya-centric team and formed a seven-strong support unit to travel the country.
The Salford firm has also appointed Phil Adams as director of Avaya. He fulfilled a similar role when he first joined Nimans six years ago but has latterly served as systems sales director.
About five new members have been added to create the support team, which will be based in the field. The distributor said members are fully qualified to provide comprehensive support for Avaya's entire portfolio, including the vendor's data products, which were added by the recent Nortel acquisition.
Adams claimed the enhanced team will allow resellers to benefit from the personal touch.
“As our Avaya business continues to grow we want to ensure we have enough support on the ground to address the needs of an expanding customer base,” he said. “We’ve got a bigger reach of people now who can manage smaller groups of resellers.”
Adams added that returning to a purely Avaya-focused role represented something of a homecoming.
"I have been working with Avaya for the past six years, having got the brand off the ground at Nimans, " he said. "You could say Avaya is in my blood."
