Dell invites Bell to join distribution carnival
Bell to carry vendor's laptops and netbooks in Latin America
Dell is moving closer to a global distribution model
Dell continues to build ties with distributors across the globe after inking a Latin American agreement with Bell Micro.
Under the terms of the partnership, Bell will distribute Dell laptops and netbooks to retailers and SMEs throughout the region.
The move is yet another signal that the vendor is increasingly favouring a two-tier channel model, two years after it officially entered the channel with its PartnerDirect programme.
As exclusively revealed by ChannelWeb, Dell recently signed up CMS Peripherals as a second UK distributor for its EqualLogic range.
Yali Luna, Bell Micro Latin America's vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement: “Mobility is one of the key areas where the market is growing in Latin America.
“We are committed to our customers in this region, and want to ensure that our linecard contains all of the key brands that they expect as they move towards mobile technology.”
