Double-Take acquires TimeSpring

Continuous data protection software company bolsters its protection and back-up capabilities with acquisition.

Double-Take Software has aquired application recovery specialist TimeSpring for approximately $8.3m in cash.

The deal, is still subject to customary closing conditions, but would strengthen Double-Take's offerings in the virtualised and physical server environments.

Once the deal is completed, Double-Take plans to integrate TimeSpring's products into its own product suite.

Rick Carlson, chief executive of TimeSpring, said: "We feel TimeSpring offers the best point-in-time recovery capabilities in the market, and we are thrilled that Double-Take Software has selected us to extend its protection and recovery portfolio."

Dean Goodermote, chief executive of Double-Take, said: "TimeSpring's engineering expertise, specifically in the area of file systems and application level recovery, fits extremely well into Double-Take Software's core capabilities as does its product design into our architecture.

"This strategic acquisition aligns well with Double-Take Software's existing and future products," he said.
