Winfrasoft offers LARs ten times more margin than Microsoft

ISV unveils price-matching deal on software giant's Forefront UAG product

Quids in: Winfrasoft claims LARs can make margins of up to 20 per cent on UAG volume licensing deals

ISV Winfrasoft is promising Microsoft Large Account Resellers (LARs) the chance to make ten times the margin offered by the software giant on some volume licensing deals.

The offer applies to Microsoft's Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) product, which Winfrasoft offers through its Gateway Appliance product. The Bracknell-based ISV is offering to match Microsoft pricing on volume licensing deals fulfilled by LAR partners. The deal also covers software assurance.

Winfrasoft claims the offer will allow users the opportunity to avoid laying out for a Windows Server licence. Having the server pre-installed as an appliance will also reduce risks and cut down on installation time, said the ISV. Winfrasoft is promising LARs the opportunity to make margins of up to 20 per cent.

Ian Shandling, a director at the firm, said: “Customers pay the same competitive price, but also benefit from taking receipt of a hardened appliance with the software pre-installed. Meanwhile, the LAR makes a much higher margin on each order and is able to sell more hardware.

“Typically a LAR will make around two per cent on a volume licensing order for Microsoft Forefront UAG 2010. However, through our new incentive scheme, we can deliver the same product version and functionality at ten times that margin.”
