Computerlinks seeks resellers for TrustEli

Distributor looking for VARs to push its latest wireless security offering

Specialist distributor Computerlinks is looking to recruit additional channel partners in the UK and Ireland on behalf of security vendor TrustEli, to push its latest wireless security offering to a wider market.

TrustEli last week unveiled Eli Everywhere to its UK and Irish markets, which it described as the first router that allows secure access of any type. It is also offered as a managed service, which Computerlinks claimed would appeal to a wide range of VARs.

Dave Ellis, director of e-security at Computerlinks, told CRN: “The appliance is basically a UTM [Unified Threat Management] box, but is delivered as a managed service by TrustEli, which is useful for smaller firms or branch offices that do not have the IT skills in house to manage their security strategy.

“Remote working is growing really rapidly in the UK, but home PCs and laptops are open to all sorts of risks. More and more firms are aware that they have to make remote working a possibility for their employees, but it has to be secure. We are already seeing a lot of interest from our resellers.”

Ellis said Computerlinks is keen to sign more resellers to sell the Eli Everywhere offering and the distributor is not specifically looking for traditional security players.

“Because it is a managed service the appliance can be sold by VARs that aren’t necessarily experts in security such as public sector players and software specialists,” he said. “There is a large target market for the appliance and we are very excited about it.”

Rob Smith, chief technology officer at TrustEli, said in a statement: “Computerlinks’ network of resellers provide a strong channel for us to confidently launch Eli Everywhere in the UK and Ireland.”
