Crossbeam constructs Westcon deal

Security vendor bolsters UK presence and targets enterprise success

Vendor Crossbeam Systems has signed up Westcon to distribute its X-Series Next Generation Security Platform in the UK.

Crossbeam claim the X-Series represents the market's only open and extensible platform for security applications. The vendor also stated it picked Westcon as a distribution partner because of the support it can offer the platform through its existing security portfolio.

The two companies will be looking for resellers to address the enterprise and carrier markets and claimed the X-Series has a demonstrable return on investment.

Westcon Security's managing director Kay Bruen said: "Crossbeam Systems is a very robust addition to our security portfolio. Crossbeam excels in virtualisation solutions, and we see this as a key business driver due to the clear economical and ecological benefits of reducing hardware, power requirements and rack space."

Edward Berks, director of Northern Europe for Crossbeam Systems, added: "I am excited to have Westcon Security on board. Westcon's distinct focus on security, in addition to its customer and partner relationships in the channel, will help us extend our leadership position in the UK market."
