Magirus launches UK EMC training courses
Distributor will hold courses covering EmailXtender, DiskXtender and Clariion ranges
Distributor Magirus has kicked off the first official UK training courses for EMC’s latest hardware and software products.
Based at the distributor’s Bracknell headquarters, the courses are open to both resellers and their customers, and cover the latest EMC products including EMC EmailXtender, EMC DiskXtender for Windows and Clariion software range.
Courses range from two to four days, which on completion gives delegates EMC certification. At present, Magirus is the only EMC-authorised training centre in the UK.
Denise Bryant, UK director for EMC distribution at Magirus, said: “One of the main reasons we have done this is that our EMC solution sales have grown 300 per cent in the past 12 months. The courses help our resellers add extra value to what they are already doing.”
Bryant said the courses can either be completed at Magirus’ premises or larger end-users can pay to have a trainer visit their own site.
“Resellers can also get their customers to book and pay online with a credit card. This way our partners don’t even have the hassle of administration,” she claimed, adding that the courses are scheduled 12 months in advance.
Andy Musgrove, manager, education services EMEA at EMC, said: “This is a further devolvement of EMC’s business into the partner community and although it is a small element of our overall strategy, every small brick in building partner relationships both in distribution and direct partners is important to us.”
