Telamon snapped up by NEC Philips

Reseller added to NEC Philips' stable to boost unified communications offering

NEC Philips Unified Solutions has acquired reseller Telamon to strengthen its expertise in unified communications software and cross platform systems integration.

The vendor is planning to use the acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, to create a team offering better customer service and enterprise end-user solutions. Telamon is also a Novell Platinum Partner, VMware Enterprise Partner and a Citrix Partner.

Chris de Silva, UK managing director of NEC Philips, said: “Telamon’s experience and track record will add real value to our strength in enterprise communications and our overall solutions proposition in the market.”

“We believe that by adding a great team of people to our existing substantial resources we will have the ‘bandwidth’ to capitalise on the enormous growth potential of this market,” De Silva added.

Steve Derbyshire, managing director of Telamon who joins NEC Philips as business development director, said: “We have worked closely with NEC Philips over the past year so we already realise that by combining our respective skills and product knowledge we can create a superb team that can deliver exceptional solutions of outstanding quality.”
