Ambitious security player boxes clever with knock-out new appointment

Round two: Rocky Pimentel's appointment will herald "new phase of financial growth", says Imperva

Application data security vendor Imperva has secured the boardroom services of heavyweight security executive Albert " Rocky" Pimentel.

The 30-year tech industry veteran will serve Imperva as chair of the Audit Committee. He is currently employed by security titan McAfee as chief operating officer and chief financial officer (CFO). He has a strong background in finance, having previously held the CFO post at LSI Logic, WebTV Networks, Zone Labs and Glu Mobile. He joined McAfee in 2008.

Imperva chief executive Shlomo Kramer said he was delighted to have Pimentel in his corner. He added that the arrival could herald the start of a successful period for the security firm.

“Rocky Pimentel is a remarkable addition to our board of directors,” said Kramer. “He has played an integral executive role at several notable technology companies. With his experience in the security space combined with his invaluable financial and operational insight, Rocky will lead the Audit Committee and Imperva into a new phase of financial growth.”
