Redstone nets BSF contract
Ambitious resellers secures multi-million-pound project
Ambitious VAR Redstone has secured a multi-million-pound managed IT contract with Lancashire’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project.
Under the Lancashire BSF programme, worth about £16m, nine new schools are to be built in the region in three phases between 2008 and 2010. Each will have state-of-the-art IT facilities.
Redstone will handle the first phase of the contract, providing the complete integrated IT and communication systems for all nine schools. It is the government’s intention to renew or replace all UK secondary schools under the BSF scheme over the next 10-15 years.
Martin Balaam, chief executive of Redstone, said: “This contract demonstrates the value of the combined skills of Redstone Converged Solutions and Redstone Managed Solutions. It is satisfying to see that the investment we have made in tendering for major long-term projects is paying dividends.”
