Directors leave REAL Solutions
The IBM reseller has lost several management figures ahead of its branch out into network convergence
Several top managment figures are known to have left REAL Solutions
Several top management figures have exited IBM partner REAL Solutions ahead of its integration with Dutch parent Imtech’s UK telecoms arm.
Long-serving managing director Paul McCord and sales director Steve Green left REAL Solutions in November, 19 months after the £32m-turnover reseller was acquired by Imtech.
Imtech is merging REAL Solutions, now known as Imtech ICT UK, with its telecoms division to “maximise the opportunities that convergence in the ICT arena present”, claimed its owners.
James Morgan, former head of Imtech’s telecoms division, will replace McCord and will oversee the integration. David Millar, director of enterprise sales at the firm, is now covering Green’s duties at Imtech ICT UK.
Nick King, chairman at IBM partner Apex, said management changes are a fairly common occurance following a company’s acquisition, citing working culture differences as a major factor.
He added:“I would not be surprised if a new startup emerged as a result because they [McCord and Green] know the market well.”
John Lindley, business development director at IBM reseller Portal Partnership, has noticed a shift in the company’s business model and fewer familiar faces at the firm since the acquisition.
He explained: “The business model the company’s presented since the acquisition is very ‘all things to all men’, which is surprising as most resellers are concentrating on niche product lines at the moment.”
