ONI seeks triple-play services with Exterity
ONI to deliver streaming video and other multimedia with triple-play
Cisco Gold partner ONI has joined IPTV networking vendor Exterity’s Authorised Systems Integrator Channel Programme to enable it to deliver complete triple-play services to customers.
Exterity’s IPTV gateway encoder and decoder products use existing IP networks by using spare bandwidth to deliver broadcast standard TV and multimedia content to any end point.
Colin Farquhar, chief executive of Exterity, said: “Adding our IPTV products to its portfolio gives ONI a fantastic opportunity to return to existing clients, with an upsell opportunity. Equally, ONI can identify opportunities in new markets to generate additional revenue.”
Farquhar said that Cisco partners are a target for the vendor.
Mark Collins, managing director of ONI, said: “More firms are realising the benefits of streaming video and other multimedia content across their IP infrastructure and want to deploy complete triple-play services.
“By joining Exterity’s channel programme, we can give our customers access to an easy-to-use network IPTV solution that complements their Cisco-based communication system and presents a huge cost saving.”
Collins claimed a secondary school had planned to spend £40,000 to implement an old coaxial TV system, but ONI demonstrated that with Exterity’s products it would only cost £12,000.
“To a school that is a huge saving,” Collins added.
