In spite of itchy trigger fingers the release gun wasn't fired early on Duke Nukem 3D. Minor outbreaks were reported but there were no major epidemics. But the Duke, surprisingly, had to face severe competition from Namco's Ridge Racer Revolution which outsold the US Gold PC CD-ROM game in HMV. The Playstation game was given an extra boost by TV advertising which broke 17 May.
