Finance firm looks to help resellers speed up deals with 20-minute credit promise

Faster response times will aid deal makers

Leasing and finance firm GrenkeLeasing has promised a 20-minute response time to all channel credit queries.

According to the firm, resellers that make an application before 6pm on a working day, will be guaranteed a response within 20 minutes.

Kevin Kennedy, UK managing director of Grenke, said the firm had surveyed its resellers and found they preferred a fast and personal credit application.

“Grenke is trying to do something a bit different in the leasing market, by supplying resellers with a credit tool for a faster deal,” he said.

“Smaller resellers that deal with smaller transactions want something that is quick. A reseller with a customer that is unsure about closing a deal can now offer a single financial instrument and speedy transaction to help secure the deal faster,” added Kennedy.

Kennedy said Grenke does not just deal with larger companies, but also tries to optimise the independent resellers that are often ignored.

“These firms are not excluded from our services,” he said. However, a representative at rival leasing and finance firm Siemens Financial Services, said: “Speed of response is crucial when it comes to channel finance. It is why more than half of our deals are approved within seconds through our online lease finance tool, ease-elease. Yet the IT channel is diverse and the challenge of margin pressure means that it is moving away from lower value, high-volume transactions towards longer-term managed solutions.”

He added: “By their very nature these types of agreements are more complex to design, implement, manage and finance.

As such, response times become less important and depth of knowledge and track record become the value-add areas that really matter.”
