Rodwell takes back CCD reins
Two weeks after Lee Perkins announced he is joining Computer 2000 in November, Rodwell is set to take over the helm
Mike Rodwell is set to step back into the role of business unit director of Computacenter Distribution (CCD), CRN can reveal.
Rodwell, who handed the reins to Lee Perkins last year (CRN, 14 August 2007) has agreed to take on the role after Perkins announced he would be heading back to rival Computer 2000 (C2000) earlier this month (Channelweb 1 September).
Speaking CRN, Rodwell said: "I can confirm I will be running CCD again. I was running the corporate hardware side of Computacenter's business and Lee and I spent a lot of time working together. I am very happy to be back.
"There is a tremendous team at CCD which I have a lot of respect for and I am looking forward to the remainder of 2008 and 2009 with anticipation.
"Computacenter as a company is well set to ride out the storm and make headway in key areas."
Rodwell added that he expects to take over the running of CCD by the end of the week and is currently working with Perkins on the handover.
When asked about any potential changes to the structure of CCD, Rodwell said it was "too early to speculate on any changes".
Meanwhile Perkins is due to start his new role at C2000 in November, but CRN understands he could be leaving CCD at the end of September.
