New Synaxon dealer service to come under EGIS
Extension of reseller group system is to expand focus on large deals
Synaxon will be punting for participants at Channel Expo 2010
Dealer group Synaxon is poised to launch a web-based service aimed at helping its members compete for large IT deals.
Phil Meacham, systems support manager at Synaxon, said the service, dubbed EGIS Ecom, would be officially launched at CRN’s Channel Expo on 12-13 May.
“It will enable them to bid and compete effectively for major contracts that otherwise would have been out of their reach,” he said.
The service means that orders made on the reseller’s own website will trigger delivery direct from the distributor’s warehouse, speeding up delivery times and streamlining the order process.
Dealers using the service have access to products from 18 UK distributors and 220,000 individual product lines. The inventory is searchable and printer cartridges can be ordered using a special wizard.
According to Synaxon, the service has been designed to meet varying and often stringent demands of corporate IT buyers, and is simple and affordable for resellers to use without spending up on subscriptions, data services or back-end integration with partner systems.
Resellers can set their own margins and retail prices for individual products, promised Synaxon.
The service is an extension of Synaxon’s EGIS Webstore for resellers.
Synaxon UK has 620 resellers on its books and claims that more are signing up weekly. “The level of business being placed through EGIS is also growing, with the most recent monthly sales up 300 per cent on a year ago,” the firm said in a statement.
