Steljes claims VARs will benefit from System 10
All four components of distributor's projector system can be sold either as a package or individually
Distributor Steljes unveiled a projector system that is suitable for use with an interactive whiteboard (IWB) last week at the British Education and Training Technology (BETT) show. It claimed the system will be quicker for resellers to install and more secure.
The Steljes System 10 bundle incorporates the ST-10 short-throw projector from Toshiba; a wall-attachable mount; a custom security cage; and a connection panel. All four components can be sold either as a package or individually, although Steljes claimed it is more effective for all elements to be sold together.
In June, rival distributor Promethean launched its Activboard+2 bundle, which combines Sanyo’s XE40 short-throw projector with a height-adjustable stand and a Promethean Activboard (CRN, 26 June). In the autumn, vendor Smart introduced its 600i all-in-one system. This combined a Smart IWB with a Unifi projector and a built-in audio system, (CRN, 6 October).
Dan Pigat, director of product management at Steljes, told CRN: “We are not in direct competition with Smart. I would compare System 10 more with Promethean’s bundle, but even then our key differentiator to the other systems is that ours is made up of four different components that can be sold separately. There will be overlap, but the 600i does things that System 10 can’t do, and vice versa.”
Rob Abbott, manager of product management at Smart, said: “There are several features that differentiate the 600i from System 10. The 600i is a true all-in-one IWB system with all the integrated functionality that customers need. Users have the ability to annotate over any video source. Also, the integrated nature of the Unifi 35 projector ensures a highly secure system that is unappealing to thieves, eliminating the need for steel cages and PIN numbers.”
