Resellers to benefit from new HP degree

Students will be placed at HP partners as part of new HP Enterprise Computing degree

Hats off: HP says new degree will ready students for the workplace

University students taking a new degree course dedicated to HP’s enterprise technology will undertake internships at the vendor and its partners.

The new four-year HP Enterprise Computing degree, as it is provisionally known, is part of a collaboration between HP and the University of the West of England (UWE).

As part of the course, graduates will undertake internships at HP and HP partners, meaning they will leave the university not only with a degree but as certified professionals with hands-on industry experience.

Nick Wilson, HP managing director of UK&I, said: “The overall aim of the collaboration between HP and UWE is to produce ‘industry-ready’ graduates who have the skills to make the leap from academia to business.”

As part of the five-year collaboration, HP will also support an initiative to build a new Education Innovation Centre at Bristol-based UWE.

Professor Steve West, vice-chancellor at UWE, said the agreement builds on a long-standing relationship between the duo centring on research and work placements.

“We are delighted to have created a step change in our relationship with HP. Over the years, our researchers, students and HP themselves have seen the advantages of this close working partnership,” he said.
