VAR Bell ready for ATF status

Reseller applies to handle WEEE

Bell Microsystems has applied to become an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) to handle the correct disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

Bell will also offer its service to other VARs once it secures its ATF license from the Environment Agency.

Alastair Bell, managing director of Bell, said: “We’ve offered a full IT asset management service since 1998 – everything from data recovery to data disposal – and have seen a massive uptake over the years. We will offer our service on a non-compete basis to other resellers and will even let them re-badge the service as their own.”

Derek Morgan, practice director at IT disposal firm CKS, said: “We need more innovation in the IT industry with regards to WEEE.”
