VC systems take effect
Questmark takes advantage of videoconferencing technology
Audiovisual VAR Questmark has supplied and installed high-definition video conferencing (VC) systems from vendor LifeSize for the Birmingham Cancer Network.
Sam McMaster, managing director of Questmark, said: “The LifeSize systems are spread across seven
sites and used every day by clinicians, such as oncologists, pathologists and radiologists, to regularly review cases and adopt or change courses of treatment.
“We are also working with the organisation to find different uses for the systems, such as connecting them to digital microscopes,” he said.
Richard Steyn, the clinic’s consultant thoracic surgeon, said: “VC allows for earlier meetings and therefore faster care.
“It can also improve treatment by permitting more consultations which, in the past, may have been impossible,” said Steyn.
