Ingram Micro fills UK MD slot
Matthew Sanderson will return from Australia to head up broadliner's UK operation
Sanderson will start his role on 1 January
Ingram Micro has finally filled the void left by UK managing director Julian Klein's exit in June.
Matthew Sanderson, who was previously a director at Ingram’s Australian arm, will take the reins of the broadliner’s UK operations in January.
Klein vacated the hotseat in June after two years in the role. Ingram immediately lined up the head of its Miami Export Group, Pablo Suarez, as his replacement, but Suarez never took up the role, instead electing to take a job at rival Bell.
At the same time, Ingram Micro has also appointed Johan Vandenbussche as regional vice president Benelux and UK, reporting into EMEA president Alain Maquet.
Sanderson, who was previously senior director of Ingram’s volume and consumer business in Australia, will start his new role on 1 January. Reporting into Vandenbussche, he will oversee Ingram’s offices in Milton Keynes and Maidenhead and its distribution centre in Daventry.
Maquet said: “We are very pleased to be welcoming Matt back to Europe and to his native England.
“Matt is a seasoned professional with a long track record of success within Ingram Micro and within the IT distribution industry. He is an excellent addition to our management team given his understanding of the UK. marketplace, as well as his global experience gained through our Australia business.”
