Samsung appoints dedicated IT head
Graham Long appointed to oversee the firm's combined IT division and help it grow market share
In new hands: Samsung's IT division will have its own head for the first time
Samsung has appointed Graham Long as vice president of IT for the UK and Ireland after bringing its three main IT businesses together earlier this year.
The vendor recently merged its Display, Note PC and Print divisions together under one umbrella. The vendor claimed the alignment was to develop ‘greater synergy’ across the business, and to increase Samsung’s footprint.
Long’s role will be to oversee sales in all IT business areas, and also to develop integrated marketing, investment and bundling opportunities for display, note PC and print. Previously Long had worked as vice president of European printing operations in Samsung’s European print division. In his new capacity he will report directly to UK managing director David Song.
Commenting on the appointment, Song said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Graham into this role within the newly created IT team. We’re committed to developing an integrated IT business that ensures total synergy across all of our IT properties – Graham’s extensive experience of the European printing business environment makes him a valuable addition to the team.”
