PC World deal lifts Vodafone

Telco claims PC World contract will not effect resellers

Vodafone has denied that the upcoming launch of Vodafone Connectivity Centres in 30 PC World stores will tread on the toes of its IT resellers.

The carrier’s store-within-a-store format will extend to PC World’s remaining 125 UK outlets next year if the initial roll-out goes to plan.

Mark Bond, enterprise sales director at Vodafone UK, said: “We hope to put small office/home offices in the mindset that when they buy a laptop they should also be getting mobile connectivity. We have programmes in place with Computer 2000 for resellers designed for the same end. The partnership with PC World will raise the profile of buying in this way.”
