Arrow bags Novell ID and security franchise

Distributor and vendor expand on PlateSpin-focused relationship

Steve Pearce: This addition to the portfolio further strengthens our offering for Novell resellers

Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) has deepened its relationship with Novell by bagging distribution rights to the software vendor's identity and security line-up.

Previously, Arrow only distributed the range of products Novell acquired through its buy out of datacentre management player PlateSpin in 2008. Arrow ECS UK managing director Steve Pearce claimed he was particularly pleased to take stock of Novell's security gear.

“Channel development includes assisting resellers with delivering end-to-end solutions to meet their customers’ IT needs, and this addition to the portfolio further strengthens our offering for our Novell resellers and, ultimately, their customers," he added.

Novell streamlined its UK distribution line-up last year and parted ways with partners that included Computer 2000, ETC and a handful of smaller players. Dan Veitkus, Novell's general manager of channels, claimed Arrow had proved its worth in developing the PlateSpin channel.

Arrow ECS has consistently proven its value and its position as one of the best value-added distributors for Novell through its ability to recruit, enable and develop resellers,” he said. “We are committed to working with the best and most qualified distributors to take our products to market and grow our business.”
