Inlite goes into liquidation

Reseller finally wound up as bad corporate debt takes its toll

Reseller Inlite Computers has entered liquidation ahead of two winding up petitions, one due to be held at the Royal Courts of Justice today.

The company entered liquidation on 19 March. The liquidators are Malcolm Fillmore and Ranjit Bajjon of BenedictMackenzie.

"Certain assets and businesses of the firm will be sold to a new company," Fillmore said.

"Inlite itself suspended trading some months ago, but certain activities were undertaken by Wireless and Data Communications [WDC] because that firm was solvent."

Kevin O'Brien, a director of both Inlite and WDC, said the latter had acquired the assets, customer list and name of Inlite Computers. "We acquired Inlite's business two weeks ago. It was subject to bad corporate debt," he said.

Fillmore added: "Liquidators always look into the circumstances of failure, and transactions are investigated.

"There has been concern from certain suppliers as to the relationship between Inlite and WDC. That matter will be fully explored."
