North Wales dealer attacks Epson over printer support

Resellers of Epson?s Stylus 600 colour printer are venting their fury over the company?s lack of co-operation about an alleged fault in the kit.

Martin Briggs, MD of North Wales retailer MCB, had to give full #300 refunds to two customers who were unable to configure the printers for their computers. He said: ?It?s not that the printers are dodgy, but Epson have put out the wrong information about them.?

One of the customers at the Buckley-based outlet was kept waiting for 20 minutes before being told it would cost 50p a minute to speak to the relevant person. On phoning another department he was told the printer was recommended for a higher spec model than his 486.

Epson marketing manager Tony Petford said: ?If there?s something wrong, customers can call a line which is free, but if they?re seeking advice it is a premium rate line.?
