Triangle set to change shape
IBM Premier Partner sells its Irish arm in an MBO
IBM Premier Partner Triangle has sold its Irish arm in a management buy-out and restructured its software and services business in the UK.
The buy-out was lead by Irish managing director Kieran McCabe. As part of the restructure, Kevin Drew, UK managing director of the VAR is stepping down. Drew said he will peruse other interests, but he remains a significant shareholder in the company.
Speaking exclusively to CRN, Drew said: “I’ll be back in the industry in some role or capacity, although I am still considering this at the moment. It will not compete in any way with Triangle. I am still a shareholder in the firm, so I want it to continue to be successful.
“Over the past four years we have reshaped the business to focus more on our software and services to increase our partners and alliances. We’ve completed this stage, hence the restructure. This will help to maximise all the effort we have been making.”
Jim Chapman, chief executive of Triangle, will pick up the UK managing director duties.
Chapman said: “Market conditions demand that we have an exceptionally robust business as we move forward, with customer needs always uppermost in our minds. We already have the technologies and the customers to do this. With the restructure of the firm complete, we will have the processes and approaches to deliver more for customers.”
