Trustmarque boosts top and bottom line
Yorkshire-based reseller announces solid yearly results after an eventful 2008
Software licensing VAR Trustmarque Solutions has capped an eventful month by announcing a healthy spike in revenue and profit in yearly results published today.
The firm's 2006/7 revenue was £111.8m over a 14-month period. The 12 months to the end of August saw revenue jump 22 per cent on a like-for-like basis to £116.8m. On the same basis, profit grew more than 30 per cent to £4.68m.
Trustmarque also claimed an intense recruitment drive this year had swelled staff numbers to more than 100, an increase of over 10 per cent. The VAR singled out a number of highlights this year including a three-year Ministry of Defence contract to supply hardware and software.
An NHS Connecting for Health deal with secured in partnership with security vendor McAfee was also hailed as a boon for the VAR. A £4m contract to supply anti-virus software, also from McAfee, was another highlight, claimed Trustmarque.
A noteworthy year for the company was capped earlier this month by the departure of managing director Ross Miller after eight years at the VAR. Keith Hills, who arrives from financial backers the Lloyds TSB Development Group, has since been installed as interim chief executive and claims he wishes to change the reseller's business model.
Finance director Paul Ferguson, said: “These results are extremely positive and reflect the ability of Trustmarque to win business and continue growing in a difficult economic climate. This puts us in a strong financial position and will allow us to achieve further growth in the coming 12 months.”
Sales director Tim Dickens added: “We are currently increasing our skill level across the organisation. This will ensure our continued growth as we expand our range of services. For example, we can now offer a comprehensive software audit for clients who realise the potential damage in being caught out by fines or unexpected licensing expenditure.
“Businesses must have the ability to manage their licence life cycle efficiently. We now give customers a value added service that can deliver real cost benefits to the bottom line - the key differentiator that will help us to grow in these times of economic uncertainty.”
