Synaxon reveals big plans for UK resellers
Buying group looks to sign 350 partners to benefit from its economies of scale and procurement resource
German buying group giant Synaxon AG is looking to make a splash in the UK channel when it launches here later this month.
Synaxon AG has nearly 2,700 German partners and offers VARs access to its Enterprise Global Information System (EGIS), which is an online procurement and information resource.
UK managing director Derek Jones is chairman of industry body the Professional Computing Association (PCA) and was IT channel director at buying group Integra until earlier this year.
“There is a gap in the market for Synaxon, with its clout and resources,” he said.
Jones also revealed that a letter inviting VARs to become Synaxon partners would be sent out on 15 September to 657 Confidence Assured PCA members. He indicated that UK operations will be in full swing early next year and added that he hoped to sign 350 Synaxon UK partners by the end of next year.
“Vendors have a new way of getting out to the market and dealers can get additional services and cost savings. The biggest benefit for resellers is EGIS,” said Jones.
Nottingham-based VAR Bear IT will be one of Synaxon’s first UK recruits. Managing director Adam Harris backed the launch. “We have only recently got an authorised credit account with a supplier and you have to be fairly well established to do so. Now resellers can benefit from economies of scale.”
The FixITlocal network has formed a strategic partnership with Synaxon, which founder John Carter said would enrich member profiles. “Synaxon is a true professional buying group with leading-edge technology. UK resellers can now be part of a huge buying group while retaining independence and locality.”
