Brilaw group calls in receiver
Creditors' meeting scheduled for 3 July
A creditors' meeting is to be held next month following the collapse of IT reseller Brilaw International and its components distribution arm Brilaw Maintenance Management (BMM). Both companies went into receivership on 20 June.
Manchester-based accountancy firm HLB Kidsons has been appointed as liquidator for both companies. The creditors' meeting will be held at its offices on 3 July.
A representative for Kidsons told vnunet.com's sister publication Computer Reseller News that about 50 employees have lost their jobs and both companies have ceased trading.
"We are hoping to release the assets of the firms to sell for the benefit of creditors in the near future," she said. No further financial information on the company was available.
Nitin Joshi, director at insolvency specialist PKF, is representing a group of creditors. "A lot of them have been unhappy with the firm for some time, because their calls were not returned," he said.
No-one from Brilaw International or BMM was available for comment at time of going to press.
