Novell and Ingres team up to tempt channel
Vendors tempt ISVs and system integrators by offering savings on set-up and build times
Money talks: Novell and Ingres are promising SIs and ISVs up to 80 per cent savings
Novell and Ingres are offering ISVs and system integrators (SIs) savings of up to 80 per cent with their latest joint initiative.
The two firms have teamed up to ensure the Ingres database is now available within SUSE Studio as part of the SUSE Appliance Programme.
According to the two firms, the SUSE Studio Appliance Template for Ingres Database enables ISVs and SIs to reduce appliance set-up and build times by up to 80 per cent, and offer their customers a most cost-effective appliance with a fully-supported, enterprise class database and operating system.
Roger Burkhardt, chief executive of Ingres, said: “We are now pleased to be working with Novell as part of the SUSE Appliance Programme to bring the benefits of software appliances to ISVs along with our respective global support capabilities. We look forward to working with the many ISVs that will boost profit margins, reduce setup costs and drive down the cost of support as a result of our joint efforts.”
Markus Rex, senior vice president at Novell, said: “Ingres has taken this opportunity one step further by integrating its database technology with SUSE Studio and making it easier for SIs and ISVs that need an enterprise-class database to build an Ingres-based software appliance within SUSE Studio.”
