Ewa Johnson, marketing director at print vendor OKI, is leaving the company next week to take on a new role at Vodafone.
Johnson's new role will be head of marketing communications at the mobile operating giant's Global Enterprise division, heading up a team of 10. She is set to start on 15 June.
Speaking to CRN, Johnson said: “This came about very quickly, but I am looking forward to my new role.”
She said the job came about after a Vodafone executive spotted her on stage giving a keynote speech on marketing in difficult times.
Johnson added that she would miss her former employer, where she has spent the past five years.
“OKI is one of those places that get to your heart, the technology is brilliant and the people are really nice, which is why people tend to stay there for so long,” she said.
A replacement for Johnson's role at OKI has yet to be announced.
