HP Portal gets running at last

Vendor claims to have ironed out the glitches that caused site to crash in first week of launch

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has claimed it has ironed out the problems with its online VAR resource which crashed during the first week of launch.

Smart Portal allows VARs to see which products are in stock across distribution and provides additional sales and marketing material.

But during its launch week, partners were unable to access the site and HP was forced to send an email explai-ning the glitch (CRN, 14 November).

Lorna Bonthrone, solutions partner organisation operations manager UK and Ireland at HP, said: “All of the problems have been ironed out. We did have some teething problems caused by the immense usage across the EMEA region on the first day, but that has now been rectified.”

Sue Richards, managing director of VAR EBM, said: “I have only just been able to access the site, but it seems well geared towards helping partners sell.”
