Work Wise encourages more flexible business

Not-for-profit organisation uses Work Wise Week to spread the remote working message

Channel players could cash in on Work Wise Week by promoting the benefits of remote working.

Organised by Work Wise UK, a not-for-profit organisation, the week starts on Wednesday and runs until 22 May. It will consist of a series of events including the Work Wise Annual Summit and the National Work From Home Day, and aims to get companies to consider smarter working practices such as home, flexible, mobile and remote working.

Work Wise UK’s overall objective is to increase the number of people working flexibly in the UK from 3.1 million to 14 million.

Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise UK, told CRN: “We have made a significant number of developments in the 12 months since we launched, such as the development of a Work Wise Quality Mark.

“We have also seen an increase in the number of people working smarter in the UK, up from 3.5 million last year to 4.2 million. However, we still have a way to go and resellers have a key role to play in educating firms, particularly in the SME sector.”

David Gould, commercial director for PC World Business, said: “We’re supportive of the principals of flexible and remote working. We have experts that can help customers select the right solutions to meet their flexible working needs. It is a gradually increasing trend and we see it as an opportunity to inform businesses.”
