BenQ sees in new year with incentive ramp

Vendor BenQ has kicked off the new year by signing a partnership with the Brigantia buying group, updating its Q-dos channel incentive programme and setting its sights on the SME sector.

Ajen Liao, managing director of BenQ UK, told CRN: “Following a successful relationship with the Network Buying Group over the past year, we decided to form a similar partnership with Brigantia.”
Launched in 2005, BenQ’s Q-dos programme rewards the vendor’s unmanaged reseller accounts via a points system.
“The points will now be given to VARs automatically rather than them having to enter the information manually,” explained Liao.
BenQ is also opening up the incentive programme to new partners.
“We originally capped it at 50 VARs but will now offer it to an additional 200 resellers,” Liao added.
BenQ directly manages 30 to 40 VARs and has 1,300 unmanaged resellers at Registered Partner level.
However, Liao said BenQ would look into its current reseller base and invite VARs with strong prospects to join Q-dos.
To date, BenQ has had most success in the UK with its projectors but wants to encourage its resellers to sell its full range of products.
Royce Lye, BenQ UK’s marketing manager, said: “The biggest challenge we’ve set for 2008 is to get VARs selling our entire product portfolio.”
Darren Sainsbury, AV business manager at Computer 2000, said: “BenQ is one of our top three projector brands and the fact that it is going to be focusing on the SME sector this year is music to my ears.”
