Baan predicts further job losses
ERP software vendor Baan has warned of more redundancies during its long haul back to profitability. Mark Hamilton, senior vice president of global marketing at Baan, said it was not the vendor's intention to lay off more staff, but it could not be ruled it out. He confirmed that an internal memo from Mary Coleman, president of Bann, highlighted the need to replace only essential staff. Baan laid off 1,200 staff last quarter, reducing headcount to about 5,000.
