Tiny launches attack on the channel
PC maker cracks corporate market with 160,000-piece deal
PC builder and retailer Tiny is launching a further assault on the channel by setting up a new business development division.
The new group has secured its first contract with cosmetics company Avon, supplying PCs to the firm's 160,000 employees.
"This is our first major break into the corporate market," said James Mahon, head of business development at Tiny. "Through a direct sales approach we can give customers the very latest technology at unrivalled prices. We believe we can corner this untapped area successfully."
The move follows Tiny's claims that its professional solutions division would grow by half this year.
"We will push for corporate and small to medium sized enterprise business," Mahon explained, claiming that the company would soon compete with the big channel players. "There is a gap in the market for this offering, and we are confident of success," he said.
