Tandberg implements European programme

Vendor reveals plans to certify about 300 channel partners into its new European scheme

Storage vendor Tandberg Data has finally rolled out its European channel programme aimed at uniting all of its partners under one scheme following its acquisition of Exabyte.

The vendor unveiled the scheme back in February , three months after the $28m Exabyte acquisition was signed.

The vendor, which has some 700 buying resellers is looking to certify about 300 in total into its new scheme.

Marije Stijnen, global corporate marketing manager at Tandberg, told CRN: “Partners will not automatically make the new scheme if they were members of our old programme. We want all of our partners to apply because that way we can get more information about them.”

The programme will be divided into three segments and the vendor is looking to recruit a different number of VARs into each segment. Tandberg is looking for 12 automation and service partners, between 30 and 40 automation and volume Partners, and about 200 Storage Partners.

Tandberg has updated its partner portal, and included new elements such as deal registration and pricing information said Stijnen. “The deal registration means that partners can get special pricing, help with bids and also protect their deal,” she added.

Jon Atherton, commercial group vice president at recently signed Tandberg distributor Enta Technologies, said: “The programme gives us and our resellers access to the information and tools required to sell. To have all the information and tools available is important, but it will not replace the direct contact with the Tandberg Data team.”
