NT compliance brings HP and MS together
Microsoft and Hewlett Packard are poised to announce a business relationship that will make Openview, HP?s systems and network management product, fully compliant with Windows NT.
The announcement, expected on 19 March, will reveal an alliance between the two companies which is intended to help propel NT higher into enterprise networks and bring HP?s system management tools to the mass end of the market.
The developments will also involve HP?s upcoming Intel desktop management product, Top Tools. In addition, future releases of the Windows and Windows NT operating systems will be more tightly integrated with HP?s technology, according to US reports.
Last month, HP launched a series of tools to help customers manage heterogeneous environments from NT.
They were HP Openview Preview ? software offering resource and performance analysis, monitoring and planning ? Measureware resource and performance agent software, and Openview Network Node Manager.
