CA strengthens MSP offering

Software vendor targets resellers looking to offer data protection managed services

Chris Ross: claims CA's MSP initiative is a 'winning' solution

Software vendor CA has launched a dedicated programme to help its channel partners boost managed services revenue.

The CA Managed Service Provider (MSP) Licensing Programme will target reseller that are keen to offer data protection software that can be used to protect back-end datacentres or offer new services to customers.

It covers CA’s Arcserve and XOsoft product families, which include data deduplication, web management, host-based replication and continuous data protection technology.

Licensing is now available across EMEA and will be rolled out worldwide shortly.

CA claims benefits to resellers include flexible licensing, simple pricing and access to the latest software versions and CA technical support. Partners can also use the CA Authorised Service Provider reseller logo.

Chris Ross, vice president, EMEA and Asia-Pacific at CA’s recovery management and data modelling business unit, claimed: “Lately we have seen other vendors fail to make data protection MSP offerings work, however our programme, delivered through our 100 per cent partner model, combined with our products, offers a winning solution for our partners and customers.

“There is huge demand from MSPs looking for data protection solutions that can expand their service offerings,” he added. “We have designed our programme to be simple, flexible and enable 'true' utility-based licensing. We have a great opportunity to establish a leadership position in this emerging MSP market.”
