Ricoh adds to colour printer product range
Printer vendor Ricoh has added five new devices to its colour multifunctional printer (MFP) range.
Printer vendor Ricoh has added five new devices to its colour multifunctional printer (MFP) range.
Eddie Hall, Ricoh product manager, claimed the vendor offers its channel the “widest range of MFPs available”.
“This is our third generation of MFPs with colour capabilities – we introduced our first one in June 2003. We will be launching two more devices at the end of July with higher printing speeds,” he said.
The latest additions extend the reach of Ricoh’s present range to provide black and white output speeds of between 24 to 45 pages per minute (ppm) as well as a colour output range from 10 to 35 ppm. All five MFPs come standard with scanner, printer and copier functions, but can have a fax option added.
“We have two channels – direct and indirect – but are predominantly more dealer orientated. We have about 100 resellers in the UK but are always looking for new VARs for our whole range of products,” added Hall.
“The uptake of colour capable devices across all sizes of business is growing. Customers are more familiar with the technology and understand its benefits. The bulk of our business is mono, but last year 14 per cent of it moved to colour,” said Hall.
Andrew Aikman, sales director of reseller Capital Solutions, said: “We’ve been working with Ricoh for 10 years. Compared to its competitors, Ricoh has the most comprehensive range of business colour devices.”
“Around 30 per cent of our expenditure is in the black to colour arena, but this is growing all the time. This is because black to colour devices aren’t much more expensive than black devices,” he added.
