Founders of defunct VAR land in Cobweb

Two weeks after voluntary winding up, co-directors of Icoda Consulting join MSP's new enterprise arm

Welcome aboard: Ed Dixon and Stuart Brown have both been appointed to Cobweb's new enterprise team

Two weeks after virtualisation specialist Icoda Consulting was voluntarily wound up, its two founding directors have arrived at managed services provider Cobweb Solutions.

Documents filed with Companies House reveal a resolution to wind up the company, signed by Icoda chairman Stuart Brown, was passed earlier this month. A Statement of Company's Affairs filed by liquidator Jeffrey Brenner reveals Icoda had £32,372 of cash, unpaid debt and assets available to unsecured creditors at the time of the winding-up. The total amount owed was almost £180,000, leaving a deficiency of more than £145,000.

After being founded in 1999, Icoda had grown to an almost £1m company in the 2008 fiscal year. But sales for the 12 months to 31 March 2009 dropped 18.5 per cent to £754,000. Despite this, pre-tax profit for the year was up 15.5 per cent to more than £150,000.

Brown has now been appointed to lead Cobweb's enterprise business consulting division, which forms part of a new unit focusing on high-end customers. Ed Dixon, co-founder of Icoda, joins Cobweb as director of enterprise cloud services.

The services firm has further shuffled its management deck with by reappointing company co-founder Julian Dyer to the role of chief technical officer. Dyer previously held to role from 2001 to 2005 and replaces Dan Germain with immediate effect.
